Jerald Edward Wheatley, 97, of Tiffin, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 8th, 2024, at his residence.

Born April 11th, 1926, in New Washington, Ohio, to Vernon R. and Lillian (Strausbaugh) Wheatley, Jerald was a 1944 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. He served two years in the United States Navy during World War II, including seven months deployed to the Philippines. On June 14th, 1947, he married Beverly J. Houk at First Lutheran Church in Tiffin.

Jerald worked as a foreman at the Zoller casting company for 15 years and as an installer for Tiffin Scenic Studios for 24 years. He was a past master of Tiffin Masonic Lodge #77 and a member of its Chapter, Council, and Commandery; served five years as president of the Seneca County Genealogical Society; and was a council member of First Lutheran Church.

Jerald was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Wheatley; his son-in-law, James Coffman; his brother, Carl Wheatley; and his sister, Thelma Dotson.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Wheatley, of Tiffin; his daughter, Carol L. Coffman of Tiffin; his brother, Richard Wheatley of Fresno, California; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church in Tiffin.
